...During my teens, the same genius educational system that brought you "The Star Wars Theme Via Dying Badgers" forced me to decide between Choir and Band. I choose Band since, as we all know, that is where all the "cool kids" go. After numerous years of mediocre trumpet playing I graduated to the guitar and finally found something I could play, or at least fake my way through. A few lessons from some stoner-guy in Westminster at the "Christ Has Risen Music Store" and hours of practice later, I joined the high-school Jazz band and played to packed houses of sweaty, agitated, and otherwise unruly and unappreciative students in high-school auditoriums across the state....
...let's skip college, that's kind of a blur. I think I played some guitar, went to class, and graduated six years later...GO VT!
Flash forward to December 2003. I went to a party in the swank rolling hills of northern Baltimore where I happened upon the glorious sound that was Vinyl Rhino (aka Vertical Smile aka Flashpoint aka Redline). The rest, as they say, is history. Now we play to throngs of devoted fans across the globe, but somehow I still hold down my day job...
